Home / About US

The NJ Tournament of Champions, a.k.a the Children’s Tournament of Champions, is a state-wide non-profit organization which offers programs of sports training, physical fitness and athletic competition for children ages 3-21, who have been classified by their school districts as Learning Disabled or Physically Challenged. Programs are currently offered in: Bowling, Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field and a special Pre– School Program.

The philosophy of the Tournament of Champions is to provide meaningful athletic competition for learning Disabled and Physically Challenged children. Founded in 1972, it remains the only known program of its kind in the entire United States.

We believe that through athletics, a child develops both physical and cognitive skills, along with a positive self-image. The Tournament of Champions is dedicated to providing an opportunity for these children to view their potential in an atmosphere that focuses on Ability not disability.
